My Neuro went Overseas to Study Stem Cell Treatment
Was India or Isreal. They're having 60% success rate using 1 type from your own marrow. Stem cell started with a M I believe. Said out of the whole marrow sample, there's only a few of this type. They're grown for 3 months, re-injected to blood or spinal fluid (I forget, sorry) WITHOUT CHEMO. Immune system is left alone. Said it works better then ebryo or cord blood.
Cost 30k which is less then 1 yr of Tysabri or Copaxone. This is something to get excited about for 60% of this site. Amen. |
I caught a Neuro this morning, in the hallway, after leaving room/speach he just gave. I saw him yrs ago, very good, older but, too far away. Told him what I said in 1st post, he named the cell, which DOES start with a M but it's about 10 letters long so yes, I forgot again. He said "interesting". Didn't have a few more seconds to tell him the "no chemo" part which is the kicker.
So, I got to pass it along to someone that will keep it in mind. Swam 20 laps when I got home. Good enough for me today. |
A quick part of morning news mentioned breaking news regarding stem cells & HIV treatment.
My pharmacist is trying to get me name of stem cell that starts with M. You's have to tell your neuros about this. |
Hey Eddie, I think this is what you're thinking of: Mesenchymal Stromal Cells. They are the ones used in the Israel by Professor Slavin, without chemo.

I hope this is not another stem cell scam, like the one that got some Docs in a bunch of trouble!!! I'm getting sick of these so called scientists using us to make money!!
Keep us knowledgable about this Eddie, so we can all decide if it's real or not. Thanks.. |
Carol, I think that's it thanks! Eveyone please mention this to your Neuro if they're a good one.

Sounds hopeful, Eddie..thanks.

The M stands for mesenchymal. For neuro-degenerative disorders the MSC or mesenchymal stem cells are harvested from the bone marrow. In our process the MSC are injected into the intrathecal space into the CSF (cerebral spinal fluid). Think epidural anesthesia.
