CDR-reviews and new conditions/illness
My husband is already on SSDI for Epilepsy and Reactive Arthritis. For the past few months his stomach has been bothering him, so long story short he was just diagnosed with Irritable Bowel and Diverticulosis. The doctor prescibed 2 more meds.
My question is- Do we ( those on SSDI ) call and tell SSA about new conditions now? Or should my husband just wait until his CDR and say his condtion/health is worse? When you say worse, does that trigger a long form? Any info would be great! Hope you all are well!! |

For SSDI you do nothing unless SS asks you to. ;) Any medical info SS needs, will be obtained from your husband's treating physicians as well as himself. How old is your husband? What is his CDR schedule? Asking because some folks never have a review because of age and/or disability. Especially those of use in the 5-7 year range. I am currently in my 7th year. Never had a CDR & don't expect to ever have one because I am near/at "retirement" age. |
Thanks for the speedy reply! Actually what scares me is my husband is young and on SSDI. Scared of the CDR's I mean.
He is on SSDI for Epilepsy and Reactive Arthritis. He is 42 now, been on for little over year and half. SSA did originally tell me that they would review him yearly due to his age. As of today, no CDR yet. I'm expecting one soon-i guess? My husband goes to his doctors as they say he should. He takes his medications as prescribed. And he does not work. Actually due to his seizures he barely can use a computer without getting a seizure. My husband has brain surgery in 2005 to remove a tumor. The tumor was removed but it left him with seizures. How Do I write a new post? Question about SSDI Review
I am new to this forum and I have been on SSDI for 14 years. I got a short form SSA-445-OCR-SM in mail, and as part of my disability, I get confused more easily. Anyway, I think I didn't fill it out correctly. I understand that iot is computer generated, and if computer kicks it out, does that mean I am automatically going to have to have a full review (long form?) My last 3 doctor visity did not have to do with original disablity,, but Idid elaborate on my original disablity in the hand written section. Any information is appreciated. Thanks.
