workman's comp bull**** again..

I've been having trouble getting my medications filled. Workman's comp is denying my meds saying they are awaiting documentation for them. These are not new meds. These are actually my refills on what they approved. My attorney called me yesterday to tell me now they want to do a deposition. Huh? Usually that's done in the beginning. So I've run out of one med and three days left on my Amitryptaline. (which I've been taking since the injury). I'm not paying them on my own because I never get reimbursed.

So now it looks like I will be off my meds. So be it. By the time my deposition comes around I'm sure I'll feel wonderful. Not sure who developed this system but I'd say it's like shooting yourself in the foot. Idiots.

Amitriptyline is not an expensive med. You can probably get it as Walgreens or WalMart for $4 or $6 per month since it is generic. Or, you can try a stint of going without to see if they are making a difference. I had to buy it for my dog and it was not expensive.

Work Comp was never designed for the injured worker's benefit. It is designed to limit the liability of the employer. the insurance company's goal is to pay out the least. It is a federal mandate. Just shows you what we get when we allow the federal and state governments to mandate how to take care of workers, injured or not. It is know as the "Great Trade-off" since the worker gets a guarantee of minimal coverage and the employers get a guarantee of limited liability. It allows the employers to factor in a precise cost of labor rather than risk a high cost liability suit. Only the employers win in this system.

What is Amitriptyline for? I see so many people here use it and I've never heard it cross my Neuro's lips.

I am also going through the worker's comp nightmare. I personally think my

particular case is fraugelent, scamish and malprctice. I have had symptoms
everyday of my life since I hit my head and my WC Neurologist, 18 months

later still says there is nothing wrong with me. How do you get along on the Elavil? At first, my neuro gave me those and I could'nt stay awake on them.l slept like 15 hours a day.

Hi all!
Thanks Mark. You always give great advise. Scott the amytriptaline is used to help prevent headaches. Im currently on 100 mg. When I first took it I was way tired but I knew I needed the rest. Im on a high dose. I think id like to see how I am off of it. I think its the reason I get so so tired. So I will keep you all updated.

ellavil or amitrypilyne is given to folks who have chronic pain conditions. headaches, muscle aches, fibro myalgia...its cheap, easy, and works great. 99% of the pharmacies out there charge $4 for it now. please get it filled, and request thru the court to be repaid for your out of pocket expenses.

WC is NOT your friend. They are NOT on your side, and they do not care if your needs get met. Please dont ever think they will. Its there job to get you out of your current job as cheaply, quickly, and quietly as they can. minimize the damage is their main goal. its imperative that you have a shark for a lawyer. They followed me for a full year before the judge finally yelled at them to stop. I was doing nothing wrong. I went from the MD, to the pharmacy to my house. end of story. after a full year the judge called it abusive to follow me anymore. They thought for sure I was doing some other job.

Keep a journal. Keep receipts, and most of all keep your cool. If they mess up, call your lawyer. Do what easy things you can for yourself (such as refill a $4 med and keep the receipt) dont allow yourself to live in misery because of them. They think the more misery you are in, the faster you will sign their papers to let them off the hook. hang in there.
