Deep Brain Stimulation

My mom just had DBS yesterday....I am concerned by her condition post surgery...She seemed unusually angry when she was in the recovery room but was otherwise pretty much herself. This morning went I arrived at the hospital, she was really confused and her speech was garbled and slurred at times...Has anyone had this experience?

One of our members here, Charlie, heads up (or used to) the DBS forum at yahoo, I think it is. Very active and lots of information from people,I would check them out too.

You can do a search for DBS on this forum and see what others have said. We haven't had DBS, but I have read that speech problems after this surgery are more common than one might think.

Sorry, I know this is not what you want to hear, just wanted to post a response and try to help point you in some directions where you may get more information.
