A Kindle Question.
OK Kindle gurus, how do you delete old, read and do not want to read again, books off your Kindle??
|
Depending on which Kindle you have, I have the 2nd Gen and the 3rd Gen Kindles, you go to the main list of all your books, scroll to the book you want to delete. On the 2nd Gen Kindle, you push the joystick thingie to the right, and it'll show you the title of the book, and what you can do with the book...at the bottom of the options says "Delete This Document". Scroll down to that and click, and it'll delete it.
On the 3rd Generation Kindle, you scroll to the book, then press on the right side of the 5-way button thingie and you'll get the page with the title of the book and what you can do with it. At the bottom of that page it says "Remove From Device". Scroll down to that and click and it's gone. I dont know about the Kindle Touch, how to delete that, and I cant go look at my dad's Kindle Touch because he gave it to my sister. So, hopefully the directions I gave above help you. |
Can you not just archive books? I have a Nook and with my MS I sometimes like to go back to a book. It's like reading it for the first time. But if I deleted it I would have to buy it again.

when you delete something off of the Kindle, you can still re-download it from your Amazon Kindle archive. You'd have to delete it off of your archive on Amazon to totally get rid of it. (unless they've changed something recently.)

How do you archive books and reading material on the Kindle?
|
You should try my system. I just go to the mailbox and see which books the library has sent me this month! ;)
|
If you remove something from your Kindle that you bought from the Amazon Kindle store, it'll stay in the Kindle Archive on Amazon unless you go to your Manage My Kindle page and manually delete the book from there.
|
I'd prefer it to stay on my Amazon Archive. That way I won't order it twice, by mistake. I'd just like to streamline my Kindle.:)
Thanks Erin and all.:grouphug: |
Which Kindle do you have? You can separate your books into "collections" (kind of like a folder) if you have the 2nd generation or the 3rd generation. (sure you can on the newest Kindle Touch, I just dont have one of those models, so I dont know how you'd do it)
