weakness & tingling in limbs & face - spreading

My husband is experiencing weakness and tingling. It started in his legs, then arms, now face. Both he and I had a weird sickness about 2 months ago. I also experienced severe weakness but I have gotten over it. He is otherwise healthy, age 46.

He's been to the family doctor 3 or 4 times, had x-rays, blood work and a calcium cardio scoring scan/test. When I was feeling bad, I felt like I had trouble breathing and my chest was tight. He had some of that, too. The doc sent me in for the cardio scan and we both had it done. Both of us are clean as a whistle.

He's getting worse by the day - the tingling & weakness is spreading. I'm trying to get him into a good neurologist.

Any ideas?

You should swing over to the peripheral neuropathy board. The tingling/numbness is a classic sign of PN, and the folks over there are so helpful.

I have to warn you though, that sometimes neurologists are not the most caring breed, so it's helpful to be armed with facts and knowledge before the visit. The people on that board can help you figure out a good starting point.

Guillain-Barre starts with an infection. Have you considered that?
