The man who was known as the worlds oldest teenager has died. Sad. He was SO cool for SO many years. Rest in Peace Mr. Clark.

WOW, REALLY? Mod's can you change the title? I understand the censoring but this man deserves to have his given name shown here!

Sorry Earl, the filters are automatic as far as I know.

Nobody today uses that nickname for Richard anymore, because the word has moved so deeply into the slang.

I think people here will understand anyway.

So sad!! I think everybody will remember him from something....whether it was American Bandstand or the New Years celebrations.

His given name was Richard Wagstaff Clark.

I don't understand. What is so bad about his name?

It is just one of the words in the forum system "naughty word" settings..
Sometimes it **** out a totally innocent use of certain words, it only "sees" the word , and not how it is used.

I did an edit and fixed it for this one.

My dad's nickname is that name. My mom calls him "Richard", always has...which I guess means that nickname has been slang for a lot longer than I've thought it was, and my mom knew it. (my dad said he didnt know it was also a slang word for years after he met my mom)

He was 82 and died of a heart attack. RIP D ick.

RIP D ick.

He helped to integrate black and white into the music scene and teenagers. Parents were freaking out about the way their teens were dancing and the music they were listening to, and seeing it on TV folks calmed down and saw that it was indeed all the rage, and not some medical ailment that needed to be corrected. He introduced Chubby Checker for the first time, and the Jackson's got a nice bump in the early days by going on his show.

Rock on D ick.

Looked it up. It's only slang when it's used with a small letter; and sometimes not. When used with a capital letter it is not slang.
