Post shingles pain.
Hi.
I am new here and trying to find someone that can relate to me. This is also my first time to communicate. My name is Bill and I am trying to find someone with experience with post shingles pain. Thirty five years ago I came down with a case of singles that the doctors said was the worse they had ever seen. Shortly after that I was diagnosed with fibromyaliga. I have been haveing a lot of pain since then and have some doubt that it is all from fibromyaliga. The area I am haveing some pain is the lower extremities of my abdomen where the shingles where located. Please, if you can be of any help to me do so. And I thank you so much. Bill |

Hey Bill--
--there is a entity known as postherpetic neuralgia, which is a not uncommon aftereffect of shingles in some people. The pain of the shingles attack--the nerve pain, specifically, lingers even after the blistering rash has healed, sometimes for months or even years. It is annoying, and often treated in much the same way other nerve pain is treated, primarily with anit-epileptic and anti-depressant medications.
