Gel for pain
 

Hi,

Has anyone tried Voltaren Gel for Neuropathy pain?

I did. It didnt work for me but I have allodinya so its hard to rub on without making the condition worse. Some people like it. There is also a pill form.

Voltaren jel is not for large areas of coverage. There are new papers describing liver damage from overuse of Voltaren topical.

Voltaren is one of the more potentially toxic NSAIDs... it is in topicals because it has lipophilic potential and crosses the skin barrier better than others. But the downside is the toxicity potential.

I have always used aspirin with good results. Never regularly, but for bad times only.

I use AlkaSeltzer original formula because the aspirin is dissolved and does not remain in the stomach long to irritate it.
But aspirin, can affect bleeding. So I only use it maybe once a week or less. Some others here have posted success with aspirin. If you use the search function at the right hand top of the first page here, you'll find those posts.

Other NSAIDs work a bit too.. but also have bleeding worries as well as cardiac side effects with long term use.

NSAIDs when they work suggest an inflammatory process going on because NSAIDs block inflammatory cytokines.
