Weather Changes
I'm not sure if this has been brought up before, but I'm sure most of us have heard that changes in weather and barometric pressure can worsen headaches and migraines. I found that bad headache days for me usually happen on days with big weather changes/ changes in barometric pressure. I have also heard April-May can be the worst time of year for this.
I found out the weather channel has an "Aches and Pains" rating based on the weather. It rates it on a scale of one to ten. http://www.weather.com/activities/health/achesandpains/ I found its somewhat reassuring for me if I am having an usually bad day to confirm that drastic weather changes are involved. _________________ 1st and only concussion March 20, 2011 playing hockey Blind-sided hit, fell back, hitting back of my head on the ice Headaches main symptom- fortunately no cognitive issues |
VEry true... a couple of weeks ago we had a drastic weather change, and I landed up feeling horrible. Hubby came home and pointed out that it was likely weather related... It doesn't always help knowing, but I guess the knowledge that I didn't DO something to set myself back is always good.

I am so glad that you brought up weather changes. I have only realized this year that the barometric pressure falling is a big trigger for my migraines.
We didn't have much rain this year and then the rains started along with thunderstorms. One of the worst migraines I had was while it was storming outside. I surely hope that this doesn't last. In other words, I hope that we can outgrow these sensitivities.... |
