Teen acne, ugh it was a ear pimple that turned infected

Okay now I'm mad. I can't believe this happened. Derrick has done all he can to take care of his face. We just still can't find anything that will get rid of most of the pimples. But his face has looked so much better. But that still doesn't mean much. He just has 1000 of pimples instead of millions all over his face, neck and back. I have no clue what to think, they have now
taken over his ears too. But the thing is we have tried everything I can find
but proactive, and I refuse to pay the price of that, and it not work too.

Insurance wont pay for anything that the doctor will prescribe, and I don't
think sending him to a dermatologist would help.

So of all things he had a pimple in his ear, and he must have picked the
top off, it got itchy. But it bleed into his ear canal. Luckily no damage
in the canal. But he has a infected ear now, and cultured and on antibiotics,
but I don't know what to think, I know that the other ear has the pimples
too. I have seen them.

So how the heck do I keep them down now after this.

I don't want a repeat of this.

Donna
have you ever had your son tested for Candida albicans (aka yeast overgrowth of the gut)?

my son had real bad acne and it cleared amazingly after his candida treatment

he took Candida Clear by NOW

hope the ear infection heals quickly

Hi Donna
yes, any doc who is clued up on Candida should be able to order the test. Some do stool tests and others prefer bloodwork

there is a home test to get an indication of whether Candida overgrowth is a problem, and even tho it is by no means definitive, yet it really does seem that when the "spit" test is positive, it is confirmed by stool/blood tests

here it is

donna, the antiobotics he is on might help cut down the infection the acne is causing. but like chemar suggested...a test for candida might be the answer. especially if his acne gets worse with antibiotics.

Turns out its a Staph infection so we will see what happens with
this. So glad the doc ordered the culture.

Donna

Thanks ladies.

Donna

checking in to see how things are going with your son

hope the staph infection has healed

Staph infection has cleared. Seizures are running rampated
for spelling error sorry. But we are waiting on a VEEG, which
I don't blame him he will hate. Again.

It will be his 4th and its been almost 4 years so at least its been
a while so it wont be as bad. I called the starlight Starbright
group he is a member of today, to see if they had any place I
could go to get discounts. So that when I went to get him
somethings new for this. It wouldn't be as expensive as it usually
is.

The unit has Playstation 2's its the only thing we don't have here
at my house it seems. And they supposedly have things age appropriate
but when your kid isn't a appropriate age kid, then this is a problem.

Also this machine is on the cancer unit, so its not like we can just
roam either, he will be tied to the room. UGH, they never let anything
else happen.

Oh well, they are sending some gift cards, and are also calling Riley
to let them know that he is a Starlight Kid and since its a site that
will help. Also they are getting me a list or idea what is there.

So nice

Donna
