Insect or mosquitto bites
Since moving to a warmer climate a year ago, l have been bitten many times by mosquitto's and other insects. I am always scratching. Now the weather has cooled down a bit, so it will be less. My legs are very scared from the bites.
But is it possible that this can cause PN? Sue |
I have wondered the same thing myself. Last summer I was bitten by some awful creature in my sleep, and the wound was very slow to heal. Although my initial symptoms began a few months before the bite, I did notice a steady increase afterwards. Maybe the toxins increase/aggravate existing PN issues? Kind of like how an illness or event can bring about autoimmune responses within the body.

The more likely possibility--
--would be picking up an infectious pathogen (bacteria or virus) from such a bite, which might cause neuropathy through direct invasion of through autoimmune molecular mimicry reaction.

ticks can
I'm not sure about mosquito bites, but ticks carry lyme disease...which causes neurological symptoms.
