What's on your plate?

Voted this morning...because we are old we can vote absentee ballot. Then went to Applebee's for lunch. It rained most of the night and is raining again now...great for my new grass...so glad I got the lawn cut yesterday when it was nice but cool.

My dear friend has decided to go for the chemo and experimental drugs, knowing that she can quit it anytime she so chooses. Today she got a port put in and says she is glad that's over with. I just pray that she doesn't suffer needlessly....we all know what pancreatic cancer does. :(:(

She said her husband loves my chili and wants the recipe so her daughter can make it for him. How to tell her it has a quart of homemade tomato juice in it. :o

I was shocked to see a baby owl sitting on our porch railing yesterday! It sat there for the longest time and I did get some pictures of it...don't know how to post them here but one is on my facebook wall. I feed the birds but I think owls eat critters.......?????

Waves at Alffee :) - when I saw your owl pic on Facebook, I thought of Lara and how she might want to see it... so now, I'm going to try a little experiment to see if it shows here:

http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...86004938_n.jpg

OH YAY.... it worked! and here is how you do it:
  • Right Click on the photo on Facebook
  • Click "Copy Image Location"
  • Its now "saved" so go to Neurotalk and click the little photo icon above.
  • Click Paste and VOILA the picture will show up here!

I've had Grand-Addy here since Saturday... and she'll be here until Friday... I've been napping and going to bed with her at night so that I'm not a tired Addy-Gramma! Its not been the greatest weather but we did manage a day of no rain and a visit to the ocean yesterday! I love being a Gramma - I let her walk in the water and get all sandy and wet :D

My work life has improved greatly which has made life so much easier. The job itself can be exhausting but the rewards and the time off to be with family make it all worth it.

:) too funny! You should have tried DVORAK. When in the USA I stayed with a friend who used only DVORAK keyboard, so I had to translate it key to key. Ahh, the memories. I guess I was clever once. It was a lesson in the learning I tell you.

Addy, I love you. Hug you in real life again would be a wish.

That is the most beautiful photo. Get owls here that wake me up from time to time with their strange sounds. To find one on my patio? No way. Not in daylight.

So special. Thanks so much!

Rain...rain... oh and did I mention rain.

Then we are supposed to have temperatures near 90 for the next 3 days.

Oh... and I'll go sometime later today and let my brother's dogs out again...3 little ankle biters. Hopefully, I'll get a little break in the rain. Luckily for me, my voice sounds somewhat like my brothers that the dogs all run for the door when I call them. I don't mind doing this but I sure hope they get home by Saturday.

Other than this... I think I'll take a nap... nothing else to do or want to do.

I tried posting a picture Addy and I don't get the same drop down "menu" that you do. I remember Curious  tried and tried to teach me how to post a picture to no avail. *grin Thank you again...Mr.Alffe keeps looking for the baby owl but he/she is long gone! I still giggle Gramma, about being sandy and wet!!

Had lunch with Barbo today and an old neighbor friend of ours. Looking forward to Cynco de Mayo in the park on Saturday..Mango on a stick and corn on the cobb....my favorites!

Well, Alffe, I imagine you're using a different operating system than I am... in other words, different computers and internet connections ... so, I tell you what... next time you would like a photo posted over here in NT (for Lara ;)), post it to FaceBook and let me know to transfer it over here!

I'm a bit under the weather today.... recouping from having Grand-Addy here with me for 4 days... can you say love?!!! She's the best happy pill I've ever taken!!

Abbie 05-03-2012 08:15 PM

My plate has holes in it from the sidewalks I've walked down......can't find one without holes.

I can't win for losing...oh well, guess it's meant to be this way. Or as my mom says... ya get what ya deserve.

:thud:
