Can the antibiotics "Ceftin" or "Flagyl" cause a temporary spike in Small Fiber pain?
Are the antibiotics "Ceftin" or "Flagyl" known for causing a temporary spike (lasting several weeks) in Small Fiber pain?
Thanks! David |
Yes, Flagyl is a known causer of PN. This antibiotic most doctors even know about. Its new cousin Tindamax has a warning on the insert even. Back in 1977 papers like this started appearing on
Flagyl: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/arti...00479-0024.pdf and: http://jcn.sagepub.com/content/21/5/429.abstract Ceftin not so much. I don't recall seeing it on any lists. |
Flagyl is definitely a bad one. It can cause problems.
