After you have had your battery out ...

Below the scar I have an egg sized lump. My Doctor thought it was a hernia and sent me for an ultra sound scan but it showed only a small amount of blood held there which my ultrasound guy said would eventually be absorbed .. yet I still have a lump I can feel like a golf ball.

Is this usual .. and does it go away?

Scar tissue

Dear Saffy-

Think of scar tissue, such as an appendectomy, or any other incision, of which you have a collection. Each is scar tissue. In my case, scar tissue is at first a nice bright red, resolving over time into purple, then at long last taking on a flesh tone as it settles in.

Scarring occurs within the body as well. In my case, it propogates tremendously, and causes bumps, then if it is deep within, as with the invasive back surgeries [a goodly number here] I have a propensity to build relentlessly, almost as if my body is disposed to go into overtime to do its scarring job. This is very much similar to the way in which I practice law. Until the client needs are satisfied, I am all over it!

Scar tissue can cause problems if it entraps nerve tissue, and this was the case with one of my deep back processes. So another foray went ever so carefully to free the nerve bundle which entrapped left me in agony. Being freed, at least my body left the nerve alone, and the healing process did not repeat agony's genesis. Ahhhhhhhhh........ peace at that site.

The location of my generator embedding is a lump within me, as I am sure the pocket formation and implanting of the generator/computer resulted in scarring. It is not an egg, but pretty flat in there on my hip, and being a guy person, it would be concealed by beachwear; that is unless I was Speedo Man, and you would be grossed out if I ever did that. In fact, I think the planet would eject me into space as "No Mark..... Not THAT:D" were I ever to don a Speedo. Nuff said. You get the picture, and are probably :Scratch-Head: or :ROTFLMAO: , in fact, it would not surprise me one bit if Rae has the perfect image, sorry though it may be, in her left pocket.

Now if said generator were removed from me, given my penchant to develop quite an efficacious scar tissue reward for surviving surgery, I have no doubt I, too, would have an egg [kinda strange for a guy person] right on my hip where said generator now resides doing its thing.

Yup,
sign me Scar Producer,

I dare not think of you being in a speedo...have seen too many men on the beaches wearing banana hammocks who should have just stayed in their hotel rooms and admired themselves in their bathroom mirrors:D:D

It's those interesting sights that make a vacation memorable. Have yet to talk hubby into trying one on:winky:, though I must say I think he'd look better than most I've seen adorn said item:D

Shiver me Timbers

Thinking of the pork slabs I have ever seen on beaches in Speedo, and that is all I have ever noted , I surely understand your point Fiona! First I ever saw one, it was in a pool in Berlin..... I looked up from laps, and yup, there was Herr Beermeister, who had obviously had many more than he ever needed who came proudly around as the "lifeguard" and I was at first thinking Ewwww. Then it dawned on me.... such a lifeguard was actually perfect, for if he dove in to save someone, all water would instantly evacuate the pool, or he would merely float:Sinking:, and be a human log onto which someone in trouble might grasp.:D Still the Ewwww factor was a bit much.:eek:

People who could usually do such an item justice are wearing the big baggy beach shorts and playing volleyball.

Yup,

Mark, your reply was very funny. What a surprise, I imagine, to look up from comfortably swimming your laps to find your lifeguard probably needed rescue himself should he end up in water. Sounds like closest he ever got to "water" was the "hops" kind :D:D

Shall I digress even further and mention the fairer sex, while on vacation feels that modesty can go out the window and that all should be exposed to what nature has slowly wreaked upon her body...those topless wonders are another sight to behold :eek:

WHITE SKIN :eek:and yes the aforementioned ladies and gents doing their 'thing' on the beach thinking they are just gorgeous....and all you want to do is cover your eyes!!!! So picture the scene........if you dare :D
