Introduction and a request for some guidance
Hi all! I'm going to try and keep this short. I'm interested in some guidance and/or pointers on some things happening with me. First, a little background. late 40's, female, diagnosed a little over a year ago with acute onset Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS). The AS is finally coming under control.
Something over a half-year ago, I began to experience weakness in my hands. Atrophy appeared in the left Thenar Eminence first, then on the right hand. FDI's are both affected. Weakness and atrophy are confirmed by GP, Rheumy, and two Neuros. My intrinsic hand muscles are losing it. I'm also beginning to have some issues with the extrinsic muscles. There is some weakness and non-existent reflexes in a few other locations as well. No particular sensory issues. So far, 1 EMG, 2 NCV, Brain MRI, full spinal MRI, MRI on both hands. Multiple x-rays of spine, neck, hips and SI-joints. Blood workups for MG. I'm scheduled for an sfEMG next week and will be seeing my Neuromuscular specialist again at the end of the month. As it stands now, there's been nothing particularly unusual with any of the tests or imaging that could be attributed to the wasting. It just keeps getting slowly worse. My hands aren't happy. I'm interested in any ideas the group might have and which subgroups might have more insight. Thanks in advance. |

is MS. But,your neuros should have caught that,I suppose
