Tofu: good, bad, ugly?

I noticed that Dr. Nedley (in his pro-brain health / anti-depression program) is in favour of tofu as an excellent source of tryptophan, among other things. Does anyone have any positive or negative experiences with tofu vis-a-vis PCS to report?

I have been eating it consistently since my concussion and haven't noticed any problems that I can correlate to it.

I've been soy intolerant since long before I sustained the brain injury. Tofu and my tummy do not get along at all.

I think soy is an excellent source of protein and actually quite yummy. If I could eat it I would. So, I'd definitely give it a shot if I were you.

But be aware that soy is a very common allergen so if you experience any weird reactions, like wheezing, hives or anything like that, then your Dr. can test if you are allergic to it. Also, if you notice that your GI tract gets upset after eating it, you might be soy intolerant like I am, it's not an allergy, but it's still a good idea to avoid it.
