You all know what I'm talking about... those days when you are just DONE emotionally. I always know tomorrows a new day but sometimes I reach a point where I'm better off spending an evening away from others because I'm irritable. Do any of you have tips for times like this?

I know exactly what your talking about and you are doing exactly what I do. Just distance myself from everyone

i try to do the distance thing but in a small trailer with 5 people who live here it gets difficult

meditate! take a bath and soak. Eat a bite of chocolate. take a walk and burn off the cortisol. cuddle a stuffed animal. (I wont tell you have one) the hugging action triggers our brains.

Make sure you warn folks. "im having a bad day. please dont take it personally, just let me work it out." then do your own thing.

Giving from an empty cup frequently creates this style breakdown. You give to the kids, the husband, the neighbors, the school, the dog, the cat, the house, the bills...then before you know it you have nothing left to give to yourself.

Have you seen the website butyoudontlooksick.com ?? the spoon theory is what you want to read. wonderful at explaining it!

I hope you feel better.

Hi terralyn

I keep in touch with a few souls on this site when I am really over the top with being depressed, mad, and crabby. This does help. I do withdraw into reading as often as I can, close the door, and get away from everything I can. ginnie

Totally relate. I am new here, but have been living with RSD for a few years now.
The other day I did something I never did before; I was mean to my mom. I felt so guilty. My mom drives me a lot because my RSD is in both legs and feet. She had only driven me right around town, but I was in such pain, that when we got home, I told her I wanted to be alone. I didn't even look at her:confused: it's good to know I'm not the only one. Thank you for that.
