Nope and I'd be one dizzy dopey individual if I did. These meds just never agreed with me.

I take baclofen and amitriptyline. That knocks me on my bum.

My combo is Baclofen (20mg, 2 or 3 x daily) + diazepam (generic Valium; 2mg 2 or 3 x daily). Works best on my spasticity when I remember to take the full amount.

Zanaflex put me to sleep, and Baclofen alone doesn't cut the cramps and stiffness.

I used to take lorazepam as a sleep aid.

B2Y, what symptoms are you trying to help?

I take baclofen (two 10mg pills a day) but I'm trying to back myself off of it. It's one of those meds you cant just stop cold turkey. So I started recently taking just 1 1/2 pills a day, and will try to drop down to one pill or half a pill soon.

When the spasticity is really horrible, or if I'm having a really horrible insomnia night, I've taken two 10mg baclofen along with half of a 5mg valium. Knocks me out.

Trying to get away from taking the valium too often, since it is habit forming (so far, I havent gotten a habit yet) It's also got a listed side effect that I think it's giving me that I dont like, so I'm trying to get both medications out of my system.

Hi B2Y,

In the past I have used Baclofen and Klonopin which is a Benzo like the Ativan. If your concern is using both Baclofen and Ativan together then, yes, they can be taken together. However, expect to fall asleep ;)

Thanks, peeps! I take a low dose of lorazepam and it's working well for me. I've been taking quinine for nocturnal leg spasms, but you can't get it anymore. Now I'm having more problems with spasticity...the neuro had said maybe a year ago that I could take "something" for it, but it wasn't sufficiently incapacitating that I wanted to add more meds. It's getting bad enough now that I'm going to ask about it my next appointment, but I really don't want to give up the lorazepam if I can help it.

I normally take Ativan first. if the MS hug doesnt go away, and im miserable, I take the baclofen. it makes me dopey and sleepy so I make sure im in bed when I am doing this. Spoke to the MD and he said "go for it." I swear, if i took every pill or needle they wanted me to take I would be in big trouble.

I know the feeling! I take Ativan for vertigo, Meclizine doesn't do a thing for me. I also take Baclofen for spasticity, 40 mgs a day, plus Lyrica for my Fibro. I do get loopy, I take Nuvigil, and Amantidine for the fatigue....It's like taking uppers and downers just to get thru the day, it's crazy!

I have not taken the two of them together. Baclofen was too strong for me as was Valium. So I now take lorazepam (Ativan) every night before bed. It does take away all spasms but it definitely helps calm them down some.
