A new antibody?
Just got this through my Google Alerts. Anybody know what this new antibody is?
"The disease (MG) is diagnosed through the use of blood tests for one of two antibodies; a third antibody related to MG, also has been discovered and will be discussed at this month's meeting." http://www.google.com/url?sa=X&q=htt...EKlwYZRJrVkdRw |

I posted about it a while ago... great news for the people who are fighting for a diagnosis but still showing negative on their tests http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/thread164820.html |
I would love to read a profile of LRP4-antibody MG! I think I have read, for example, that people with MuSK antibodies tend to have a slightly different group of symptoms than people with AChR-antibodies (more neck and bulbar symptoms? I'm not sure).
I'm sero-negative, and my symptoms are somewhat atypical (my eyes are only very mildly affected, and heat doesn't bother me). I have been tested three times for AChR (and once for MuSK and LEMS), all negative. My best guess is that I have some other antibody. Maybe soon they'll figure out what typical LRP4 myasthenia looks like, and it will look like me. Abby |
Well, duh -- my brain fog.......AGAIN!!
