Are these symptoms common with MS?

Hello everyone!

I wanted to post my symptoms and what's been going on to receive some advice if you don't mind, so please bear with me!

For the past few years, I've been going through bouts of extreme fatigue. (I'm only 24) My legs are very, very sore (specifically my calves) and can ache regardless of what i'm doing. Sometimes I can sit in bed and just cry due to the intense ache that runs along the side of both of my shins. I also experience tingling, burning, and numbing sensations in both feet, ankles and bottom of legs. Sometimes my feet can bother me so much I don't even want to bear weight on them for a short while.

I experience sharp, shooting, electric, tingling pains that can originate anywhere in my body and are quite painful. I've also been experiencing numbness in my arm and leg of my right side. I also feel a dull ache behind my right eye sometimes, and will twitch.

I have had bad diarrehea and can switch from that to constipation, although I have been to a gastro. and Crohn's, IBS, cancer etc. have been ruled out.

b12 deficiency, lupus, RA, infection, etc have been ruled out. A few weeks ago I went back to my Dr.'s and he did a few simple reflex tests etc. He told me that I had an abnormal gait (wide), balance was off, and my legs were somewhat weak. He ordered a CT to rule out tumor, stroke etc. and it came back totally normal.

I am now being referred to a neurologist (waiting for an appointment) and the Dr said I may have MS. Are these symptoms in accordance with MS symptoms?

Thanks so much for taking the time to read this.

I'll say get a brain & cervical MRI followed by spinal tap if films come back questionable. You sound into it so the day you get MRI, tell them you want it on cd. $10 & I leave with it, look at it after dinner.

edit - Welcome aboard.

Those do all sound very MS like. However, MS is a diagnosis of exclusion and there are lots of other diseases that have overlapping symptoms.

Try googling the McDonald criteria and it will give you an idea of how they diagnose MS. Warning, it may take years of limbo before you get a real answer.

Another disease to check out--Porphyria. It is rare and not always properly tested. You must test both urine and stool, not urine alone. It can occur alongside MS, and symptoms can be similar in some cases. Don't let anyone tell you it's too rare to be yours.
