Prialt trial. Scared
Hi guys,
I'm new here and scared. I have RSD in both feet and legs. I have gone from limping, to a cane, to a walker, to a wheelchair. I have done all the usual treatments. Epidurals, nerve blocks, surgeries, and now I am waiting for the prialt trial. It feels like this is the end. The last stop on the pain train. I am scared that this won't work and that there isn't anything else they have to offer me. Have any of you had a successful prialt trial? What about the pain pump surgery? How bad is the recovery? Thank you for your help, Lisa |
hi. I was wondering what the priat trials are. is that the scs. spinal cord stimulator?? I know the pain pump. and personally I won't do that I think to risky same as the scs. but like most things it is a personal decision. I have always said that pain is a very personal thing. the most I would say. I would ask that you never lose hope hard as it gets sometimes but when it gets hard speak with some friends in the war. I know the pattern you have gone in . I am in a similar pattern. I went from crutches to cane to cane with walker. and the walker turns into a wheel chair for when i can no longer stand on my own two feet. thankfully that usage is minimal.(for now) remember to always hope high. its ok. even if you are let down. I usually hope high and plan for the worst so my feet are close to the ground if I fall from my high hopes.doesnt always work but its how I can keep convincing myself to keep high hopes. god speed my friend with many soft hugs and remember when your high hopes let you down you aren't alone , we can help you back up again..

There was a NeuroTalk member from Virginia who had the pain pump installed. She said her RSD pain vanished. She also said the pain pump delivers narcotics in the spinal column, not the head or belly leaving her head unfogged. This method delivers narcotics directly to the nervous system requiring less medication.
She has not posted in sometime now but she, at the time, got great relief. No doubt there are major issues with the pump such as sudden difficulty breathing and problems finding doctors who will fill the pump every six months or so and other issues I'm sure. How she is doing now with the pump I have no clue. |
Thank you
Thank for your concern and hugs. The prialt trial is for the pain pump. I already had the scs. It was removed because it travels over my tail bone. Fun fun. Anyway, prialt comes from the shell of a sea snail. It is a non opiate way to help pain. I'll let you know how it goes

Pain pump
Thank you so much for the info. I have read good and bad things about the Prialt. I have researched it and think it's my best option right now. I had the scs taken out because it traveled over my tailbone. Don't ask.lol :o
