Yikes, I almost fell!
I know, some of you might be thinking, "So what's your point?"
I use my cane or rolling walker when I'm out and about, but in the house I sometimes wall-walk, but don't usually have any problems. Well, I was walking across the kitchen floor, not particularly hurrying (thank GOD) and I stepped forward with my right foot...or I should say, with my right LEG. I thought my foot was coming along with my leg, but it stayed behind, dragging my Croc toes on the floor and I almost ate linoleum. Whoooo, my heart is still thumping. I don't have diagnosed foot drop, and it only does it once in a while, but you know what? That's all it takes is once. Am I REALLY going to have to walk t-h-i-s s-l-o-w-l-y in my own house? Ugh. For a while there I had fooled myself into thinking I was normal. Thanks a LOT for the reminder, MS. Be careful out there! |
I'm so glad you didn't fall!!

EEEEEEK:eek:. Please don't say fall around here, it could cause heart attacks. I'm glad you didn't fall and hurt yourself.
I have learned, especially after my own hellish fall. not to take even one step for granted. I always ask the Lord to help me and when I make it sucessfully, I say TYVM. |
So glad you didn't fall!
Sorry you are having to walk so carefully. It's frustrating to deal with! Hope you have a great night! |
Glad you didn't fall.. be careful!
I know exactly how you feel.. I've been having a weepy day today.. I wall walk as well.. Try to relax now.. take a deep breath.. I know easier said than done. Cindy:hug: |
Glad you didnt fall. Im like you, I use my walker or cane always outside of the house, but inside it really depends on how Im walking when I get up in the morning. I do alot of wall walking myself. I have fallen wall walking and using my cane. Hard to walk when your legs are numb no matter how careful you are.

Linoleum is not tasty. Glad you didn't get a mouth full!

That happens to me a few times a month. It always leaves me feeling like I just dodged a bullet. It can really shake me up.

i had foot drop for one week, then it went away, so it was not diagnosed.
I had a very bad fall two years ago, down stairs at my nephew's house, because I was hurrying and carrying something in one hand. I usually put both hands on the railing even of short flights of stairs. And place my feet very very carefully. I wonder about the Crocs. I've never worn them. I do wear slides, though, which some might think are not safe. i can't find any really safe shoes. Just have to pray like Sally does that every step will be OK. |
Oh my gosh how scary!!! I'm glad you're okay B2Y  Saved by the Crocs!
(I've thankfully never experienced foot drop, however I learned my lesson about having my boot tray - for Winter boots - in the pass between my kitchen and living room in my 2 bdrm apartment. I tripped over it one day and nearly had my own serving of lino. Saved via fridge handle. Go reflexes, left hand managed to grab hold of handle, right hand braced my descent to floor. Gosh I'm a dork for putting that tray there, it was moved promptly after around the corner out of the traffic.) |
