PN leading to TN

I have suffered from peripheral neuropathy for two years. It is in many areas of my body. They don't all hurt at once but rotate a little. I am currently on gapapentin and Tramadol plus Lidoderm patch. Now I am starting to get some of strange feelings in my face. I was washing my face and noticed left cheek felt bruised or like chapped skin. Now I noticed my eye feels like sand in it. Also, cheeks feels like bees lighting on it. Anyone else had this sort of thing where lower body pain started first?

I Have hear t.n. coming from RSD , MS and also heard of Trigeminal Neuropathy as opposed to Trigeminal Neuralgia. I haven't had mine start the way you have mentioned , mine is from sever face trauma . to me chronic nerve pain neuropathic or neuralgia .. it may have different names but it is the same. It is a monster . sorry to hear you are getting flare ups in your face. hopefully the meds will help control it. call your doc and Inquire about the new symptoms they may have an idea about some options and if it is t.n. or another type of pain.
sending positive energy low pain and hope you have a good :grouphug:night.
PEACE

Hi
Please excuse any nonsense but I'm new to all this and am still blundering through conditions &meds
I've just been diagnosed with trigeminal neuropathic pain. Only taken 2 and a bit years so I feel lucky
Still struggling to find the differences btw TG & my condition. I know I don't get pain highs of TG & mine is not triggers by touching face etc - I just get dull to med pain daily

Have been through all the drug pot & even got to taking two anticonvulsants but specialist specialist is not happy with this but pain man consultant is..........
I feel a bit of a fraud having read throu so many stories & am soooo grateful to have got such a quick diagnosis.

Here in uk it's TG or nothing - you guys in US seem to be so much ahead of us
