I finally decided on a laptop
 

many of you know I went blind, then got some sight back, then went blind, and now have some sight back. When I am struggling visually to use the computer is an awful task, and i really need to use it. I am writing a book, and I use it to down load my audio books from the library to my Iphone, as well as calendars for appointments...I really do use my machine a lot. My old lap top is 12 years old now, and it owes me nothing. I have worked this thing to bits, and it wont allow the handicap stuff that I need. One of my demands on selling my car was that I would get my laptop. I shopped and shopped and while I found good prices, I couldnt find one that would handle the power I want and would stand the test of time. I had a computer guy help me research it and we came up with the HP Envy. I chose to NOT get the apple cause it was soooo expensive. so, this is what I got.

I have been spending the last few days customizing it so when I have bad vision days I can use dragon or flip on their stuff. They key board is lighted so that helps.

I know we spoke of being a cheapskate before, so I thought I would tell you that when I was searching for a good photo to show you, I saw HP had this for $200 less than I paid for it, so I went to the store and argued with the store manager. I won! whoo hoo! So, I got it for the sales price.

My laptops last me at least 10 years, so I get a good one out of the gate, and dont have to worry about it 2 years from now, it will still be kicking and working hard.

im so happy! now if I could just get some of this handicap program stuff figured out. :cool:
