New Article - New Treatment Using Cells
Hello all -
I am a new member, who has just recently been diagnosed to toxic peripheral neuropathy in my feet, although I'm one of the majority that took over two years to get a correct diagnosis. I googled this article today where it talks about using nerve cells to implant into affected areas. |
Here is a link to a new ScienceDaily article which Brue is trying to share.
http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases...0523133057.htm Science Daily has a strict copyright so I won't quote any of it here. Suffice it to say this article expands on the topic we had here a while back about dorsal root ganglia, and stem cell transplantation for damage ganglia. Here is another link to a new article on the dorsal root ganglia issue: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3287412/ Both of these procedures are in very early days, research wise and will not be available for patients for a long time yet. They are interesting to read however. |
Thanks for posting the link. I realize there is very little hope for those with certain types of neuropathy, mine included, so maybe this would be a source of hope for those affected. However many years in the future it will be.
