The good news is...

I figured out where the water in the basement is coming from. I just washed one side of my house - there is apparently a leak in a pipe by the outside water faucet.

The bad news? My BF is in the hospital and will be till Monday (planned surgery). My head is already pounding from the anxiety and from bending over forcing the wet vac into the carpet.

And I've got a long way to go. :Sigh:

Sparky,

So sorry to hear on both events.

Don't overdo it. That BF might need you when home.

Been vacuuming for almost 2 hours straight. It's weird - when I stop a moment I feel lightheaded but when I go at it again I'm ok. Weak but not lightheaded.

After about 3 hours of wet-vacing and 5 emptyings of the container, I'm done. Literally. Done. :thud: I cannot stand up straight. My right leg won't lift my foot any higher than about an inch or 2 off the ground.

I set up a high-velocity fan to blow across the floor down stairs. That's the best I can do.

Digging for the bright side:
  • Now I know where the water is coming from, and it's NOT the upstairs shower as we thought.
  • Not everyone owns a big wet-vac. I do!
  • My MS is such that I will (should:smileypray:) recover enough by tomorrow to go shopping with a friend. I'll probably use my cane, which I rarely do anymore, but at least I'll still be able to get out and do something.
Early to bed tonight!

Thanks everyone, for your well-wishes!
