Neuro follow-up
I went for my three month follow-up with my neuro today.
She says my MRI looked good. Same number of lesions as before, not any bigger than before and none enhancing. Then she asked how I was feeling. I told her not as good as my MRI shows. She asked how, I told her about all the visual issues and the horrible muscle spasms. But I can't do any more muscle relaxers than what I'm on because they aggravate the periodic paralysis. So I can't even take them during the day. She asked if I had tried tonic water. I told her I'd never heard of trying it for muscle cramps/spasms. She said to try half of an 8 or 12 oz bottle once or twice a day and put a few drops of lime juice or some cranberry juice in it. She said it might help. So I bought some today and we will see if it works! Other than that we are just staying the course again and I go back to see her in September. Things keep getting worse but we just don't know what else to do since every time we change something with me I tend to fall apart! |
The tonic water contains a small amount of quinnine. My cardio told me about it many years ago, and suggested the small amount for leg cramps. It does help me. You may know of a drink, Gin & Tonic? Same stuff, better taste.

I tried the tonic water and could never get past that aweful taste! I even mixed it with other liquids like o.j, pop, etc. Nothing masked the taste. I did it for like 4 months and it didnt do anything for me.

It is helping with the uncontrollable stretching. But I'm thinking it's messing with my bowels. If not this is awful coincidental. |
i hope you will be feeling better soon.
it sounds like your dr listens to you. that's a good thing. |
Great point, Judy!
