Hello everyone

I am new here - just come across the site today. I have had several years of spinal surgery and am being told I need more soon. I would love to hear from anyone who has had similar experiences. My last op was anterior L4/L5 discectomy, bone graft and fusion, and revison of posterior instrumentation. Took 9.5 hours in total and now I am being told I need similar surgery at L1/L2 Its all a bit daunting. Is surgery the only way or has anyone experience of being treated successfully for pain control and is so how!

Hi Sally and welcome. You'll find lots of support in the Spinal forum. Scroll down the page...or perhaps someone can post the url for it.

Hi there

Thanks for replying Maneet - It does fell a bit tempting at times to just curl up and give in but then another part of me kicks in and I am back to fighting it again. I love my work as a counsellor in a doctors surgery and as long as I can do that I will be OK. I am not familiar with the illness you have but it sounds progressive and must be pretty depressing. I think you are right and that if we can make friends through sites like this that this can only help.

Best wishes

Sally
