Dunno why I haven't logged in, in over 5 mos, but I just felt that this was becoming kinda obsessive and drifted away for a while, I guess. :cool::(

I am glad to see you, friend! Sometimes people just need a

I have a locksmith question....if you don't mind?
We have a VERY old lock with a very old key, from 1935.
(Eagle Lock Co. from Terryville Conn.)
Do you think there will be a blank available for it to copy?
Should we go to a locksmith rather than a key place in a hardware?
This problem just came up, this season, as I had to mail my key to
the roofer upNorth so he could go into the house and examine the inner roof appearance. We think we should have new keys just in case.

The keys look like these, in this Ebay listing, in size and style, but they don't go into a padlock. They are for door locks on double oak doors,
that have a lower and upper portion like a barn. The keys are not
skeleton type, but normal, just very short and small.

I guess I'll have to start looking around some ...hubby would like to keep the locks...for sentimental value.

I wrote you a long PM and hit the wrong key and lost it- oh well. In a nutshell:
My#2 son (the quad) is doing quite well.
My #1 son is finally, after 6 years of off & on symptoms, being treated for Lyme disease and is constantly nauseous from the meds. Doc said that is normal. He'll feel worse before he feels better- I'm skeptical. He also is taking gabapentin for a 'traveling' nerve pain all over, especially in his joints. He's only 43, he worries me.

The key is one of the short Eagle 1014 series,. either a plain 1014, 1014D, 1014DX, or 1014F ('ILCO' numbers). Its difficult to say, without it in my hand for comparison. Go to a good locksmith. He should carry the whole series (there are others).
All of the Eagles have the same head shape - whether the long or short blanks.
