I am tired of U.S. Gov regulations about my meds

Hi,

My pharmacy automatically renews my meds every month except for the Klonopin because the fed gov will not let them do that. I have to remember to call in during the hours that the pharmacy is open because I have to talk to an actual person to get this renewal of a med that I have been on for twenty plus years. S e r i o u s l y ? :mad2:

When I was on Xanax, the store added its own rules (that were more strict than the gov rules) and would only let me drop off the 'script during certain extremely very limited hours. I switched pharmacies.

I went off Ritalin --- a very good med that was helping me tremendously -- because of the strict rules about the 'script. My life these past 10 years would have been better if I could have been on the Ritalin.

I got almost accosted in a store because I had one package of cold medicine in my hand that was supposed to be locked up. It had been shelved improperly. An assistant manager saw me with it in my hand when I went to pay for it. She totally major freaked out.

(I am in a ranting mood today. 'Sorry.)

Hi Mari

I hear you. Meds. are being more and more controlled by big brother. We are not the ones abusing, but there are many who do. That makes it hard on all the legitimate patients seeking help. I have no idea what the answer is. I hope my own doctor will continue to give me some relief. I wish you the best mari. ginnie:hug:

I hear you Mari. It is getting rediculous to get meds, even those we used for years. Right now I cannot get my Advair as it is hundreds of dollars even on my Plan D drug plan at Walmart.

My Lexapro went generic, but costly not covered enough anyway. Afraid to start Celexa after such terrible side effects with Effexor, Paxil, Prozac and Welburtin.....Would go without, but anxiety and saddnes just overwhelms as I try to work.

My son needed a new MRI for Hershey med center to treat, they would not go through the issue to have their people do the pre-cert with welfare, made the PCP do it because too long annoying of process.

Then the MRI folks want a positive EMG to get the MRI as to not waste their money w/o positive findings. Now EMG's are not the end all to rediculopathy or pain from what I recall, osteo issues can be there w/o positive findings????

But, the injury was 1999, don't think there has been any healings since the last EMG in 2010 or 2011? Are they saving the expense of uneeded MRI, or adding cost for them by doing the EMG. Crazy.

So that is my vent, health care has gone to the dogs...oh dear, I fogot, we can't get healthcare for our pets.

Now I need a dental plan for dh, son and I. I need glass plan, Medicare did not cover most of exam or any of the glasses, it was $550.

I will have some whine with my crackers, and go soak in the Calgone!.

Hi Di

You are right Di, the emg, is not the end all. You can have negative findings and still have pain and problems. Seems the MRI would get down to the nitty gritty without putting a patient through that for nothing. I get sick of the whole system as you do. No dental, won't even go there. Glasses cost as yours did, my charge card took a hit. I wine too about all of it, as I expected better after working all my life. ginnie
