Back Pains
 

I have had back pains for a number of years in 2006 jumped through kaisers hoops to see a specialist who told me "we all have back pain that's the price we pay for choosing to evolve". I'm jumping though the hoops again and finally got an MRI. I'm wondering if anyone can look them over and give me a heads up on how to go about discussing the results with the doctor.

Sorry you are having trouble with your back. If you post the findings of your MRI with the language, I think more of us would be able to help you. I can't see much damage to the actual disks. The spacing seems OK, but I am definately not an expert. I look up information better than I understand reading of the MRI thumb. Will be here to help you, and so will others. Welcome to Neuro Talk. Thank you for the response. I have no report yet, the problem is at L5 and S1 from what the x rays and the Dr said.

I Googled Normal low back MRI and these images came up - although some show issues also.

I can see the severe angle of change in the area you mention on your image, that is not normal compared to the google results.
Did you ever land really hard on your tailbone?

I have had the pains for along time, In January i was sitting at a stop sign on my motorcycle and was hit and thrown into traffic. I'm sure it didn't help the situation, but like I said I have had these pains for a number of years. The pains I'm having are extreme lower back pain, sharp pains running down my back past the outside of my right hip running to the inside of my groin down to the outside of my knee and down the front of my shin to my feet. Numbing in left and right front thighs, rushing hot water feeling down the inside of my right thigh and feels like I'm standing in a cold bucket of water from the middle of right shin down to my right foot. Loss of strength in right leg and a general weak feeling in both legs, with a sort of disorientated feeling in my right leg while walking.
