Have fun everyone and i want to hear about it

I really miss hanging with my friends. Sometimes would go to titusville where they would do a firework show... launch them out at sea from a platform - really great show and safe because they were actually far away.

But it was the whole feeling of belonging and rejoicing that made it so cool. Without that, the best light show is worthless.

So, nostalgia will be my keeper today ... for a change, right?

You guys enjoy for me. And report back. On the fireworks and the cookouts and sparklers and toasted marshmallows and singing and all good stuff. Be my eyes and my ears and my nose and my mouth, hands feet. But most of all be my heart and my soul for today.

Be safe on the roads. Too many people are still driving under the influence or intoxicated, even if you don't, so be very alert.

love to all

:Good-Post:

Hi, Waves,

I am also hoping that someone has fun on the Fourth so that I can hear stories.

I am going to have a quiet day at home. We can hear the fireworks. Some years I tune into a tv special with fireworks and music.
It will be a lovely night Wednesday with a big moon.

I have to work today( thankful for a job) but we will go watch the symphony perform tonight out doors ending with fireworks. there will pre concert activities too, jeff said this is the only time he will eat a hot dog. I am not. I think we will have tuna fish salad before we head out to the parks.
Will report back later!

In Indiana there has been a burn ban for 1/2 of June and now into July.

From June 29th through July 9th they can't ban fireworks. But lots of
counties put emergency somethings into effect for firework bans to
do just that till further notice. Some of the area's have even cancelled
there big firework displays for tonight.

Then some of the other counties close by have told the other counties
that have cancelled, to please come join them. They have made sure
there is extra room for them.

To me this is the only safe way for a firework display, these counties
are only allowing this one firework display.

My county I believe may have lifted the firework ban last night. But
to keep our houses and our neighbors safe. We will not be doing fireworks.

Even my son who would usually be doing his, agrees.

I've been inside most of the day, just out to double check on Derrick, as
he worked the festival uptown, for the Lions Club. The report from, him
many went home from the kitchen sick. It was 104 at one point today.

I'm just glad he wasn't one. They asked if he was available to help clean
up tomorrow, I'm so glad he was honest and told them no. He told me
he is to tired.

Well Gosh. Sounds like a lot of blow-outs all around. :(

Bizi, poor dear, what a time to get sick. :( Sorry you had to miss out on the festivities completely. :( I do hope you feel better in the morning and that your cold or sinus infection takes its leave of you quickly!

Donna, I hope you find ways to mitigate the heat - I understand (not as hot here but hot, and i don't have AC). I agree with having county or state-organized displays, in a safe area, rather than having individuals do fireworks. sure it can be fun to do your own but it is also quite dangerous - to the neighbors and also to yourselves. i know a guy who lost two fingers coz one went off prematurlely while he was still holding it. lucky he didn't lose an eye, you know? also the big displays are usually choreographed and pretty dang awesome.

The heat and the storms really made it hard I think this year. I can't imagine those still without power too much in the party hearty mood, and what about those injured and with houses destroyed too.

---------------
Well, fwiw, my dealy is that I got hit by a wicked migraine yesterday. Went to the doc medicated, weak but viable. Then broke into a cold sweat trying to talk things out to him. Lost vision. Nearly fainted. Dr. paper-pusher had to help me over to the exam bed to lie down. He elevated my legs till I felt better, even took my bp before letting me up ... a whopping 95/70. He had me call someone to fetch me.

I am doing better this morning, still have mild pain and basically feel like i've been hit by a Mack truck. :(
---------------

Well, let's hope next year will be better and we'll all feel more sensational, inspirational, celebrational, muppetational... ;):D:cool: (wanted to end on a positive note. :sing:)
