Could this be a pressure neuropathie
Every 2 or 3 weeks I go for a electro acapuncture treatment to a center that treats people with this condition.
I have a toxic neuropathy causes by the use of Dapsone. Usually we discus how its going for me lately he started a theory that my nerves have become so sensitive that it almost looks like i have a pressure neuropathie to him because my problems start where bands that keep your mussels and tendons be kept at place in your hands and feet are are located. Can anyone give me some input on this |

I feel like there is a weight on my thigh. Is that a pressure neuropathy? |

Too much sodium, or MSG (monosodium Glutamate which is food additive) or hypothyroidism (which was my problem) or increases in certain sex hormones, eating too much carbs which retain water, or kidney malfunctions can create compression at the ankle and wrist. Fluid accumulation from some drugs like gabapentin and Lyrica can do the same. Opiates may do this too. What works for me is putting an ice pack on the wrists and ankles when it is obvious and severe. I usually have more problems with my right wrist (if I overdo things) and my left ankle which is connected to my old surgery. |
Interesting article concerning Dapsone producing a toxic neuropathy. Dapsone has a moderate to severe risk for someone who has CMT.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/945490 http://www.hnpp.org/ HNPP (Hereditary Neuropathy with Liability to Pressure Palsies) is the opposite of CMT1A. There is a deletion vs a duplication. You get numb, etc. from something pressing on your arm or leg, etc. It's an interesting article which explains it well. Just thought I'd throw this out there. |
