Had my EEG today

Well I had my EEG today took about 20 minutes , I don't know how it went because I did not see the neurologist. I will not see her again till August she is out of the office for a couple of weeks. I thought I was going to see her and get the results. That is somewhat frustrating because I was hoping to be able to have a diagnosis and settle with the insurance company of the driver who rear ended me and then see where I am on returning to work . A couple of weeks ago she ordered an MRI of my c spine done and I am waiting on the results of that as well. I have never had an EEG so I did not know what it entailed, not a big deal so to speak they told me to just lay and nap but I have a hard time doing that during the day time and the exam table was uncomfortable. THe portion where the strobe was used gave me a scare as I was not expecting that. I guess I am going to have to get disability paperwork from my job and use my short term disability because I am running out of leave this is a bit frustrating I was really hoping to have some closure and a diagnosis by now, it just seems like a lot of tests have been run and its taken a lot of time.

Your frustration is understandable, but you should be glad you are getting those tests. Many of us struggle just to be tested; there are a lot of jerks in the neurology department these days. Hang in there, take your short term, you will probably need the time to rest and heal.

You are absolutely right, I had a long wait before I got to actually see a neurologist so I am glad she is through. I appreciate the encouragement a lot.

:)

IT Guy,

Don't try to rush to a settlement. The longer you can wait, the better you will understand your long term condition.

The EEG with sleep is common but the scheduler will usually tell you to stay up the night before. I stayed up all night and when it was time for me to try to sleep, a workman was pounding in the room next door. I could not get the EEG repeated which was too bad because my body jerks just as I start to fall asleep.

Have you or your attorney looked at the information on www.subtlebraininjury.com ? It is very good.

My best to you.

I think part of my problem was that I did not have my cpap when I took the test as I do sleep with one and also it was not my bed. I am one of those people sleep well anywhere but my bed.

I appreciate everyone's help and advice thanks again.
