Pain shot up for the first time in many months.
The P icon is for pain. ;)
Oh, I'm not on pain meds. Anyone else not on pain medication? Temp hit about 100 today, and the housemates' baby crying at random times in the night early/morning disrupts sleep at times (despite melatonin & earplugs). Maybe this is why I'm feeling it. Oh, "it" isn't a normal headache, but the feeling of a metal spike rammed in the roof of my mouth that, if bad enough, brings the headache. :o Annoying because a few weeks ago the pain started to fade a bit. Anyone else feel a spike in pain recently? Thank God this isn't from an impact to the head. |
I'm not on pain meds either not without lack of trying. Doc was concerned of upsetting my stomach...What?
Stomach is the vocal point of stress so why not give the meds and chances are tummy troubles wouldn't be problematic if the body isn't in any stress...Anyway. Today was weird for me too. I tried to lie on my back and I had a pressure pain in the back of my skull so I sat up. Then, I had a pressure pain at the top of my head. Strange. Can't win for losing. It could be added stress. I did have a very stressful meeting with my employer today and couldn't relax enough to sleep. Only got a few hours. Since resting is the only way of healing from this injury. What is your diagnoses? Only a few hours, and something very stressful? I feel bad for what you've gone through and hope you feel better and not have to experience that again.
I got my TBI almost two years ago, and am 38. Hard blow to the head onto a wood chair backrest on a ship. Mainly physical pain & coordination issues since then. Hoping for pain relief soon. Thanks for the reply! |
Mark suggested an enteric aspirin and a tylenol for pain a year ago when I was struggling. Has made a huge difference. Since it's enteric and tylenol its not as rough on you stomach as other pain meds would be. Just be careful not to do it too frequently or you'll get rebound headaches.
Maybe that would help? |
I don't take any pain meds right now and don't take any meds at all for my pcs, only taking steroids for a major skin issue. (The steroids do affect my head pain, sometimes for the better, but sometimes for the worse if they drive up my blood pressure, like when I start a new course of them) For a while I was using ibuprofen and it helped a bit, but nothing dramatic.
I manage my head pain by laying down in the dark, that's the only thing that helps. My head pain is always around a 5-6 out of 10, never lower and often hits an 8-9 out of 10. (9 is when the tears start flowing, but I never sob, sobbing makes it worse!) Heading to the brain injury rehab clinic next week, I expect they will send me home with a variety of prescriptions.... I just haven't decided if I'll actually take them yet... depends on what they suggest. (I'm pretty anti drug) Starr |
Wow! 2 yrs. I can't get over how long this takes. I just want to be better so badly. I said in my work meeting out of frustration. The old me is gone and I don't know who this person is but it's not me.
Which is so true. Try to take it one day at a time. I'm trying to. Kelly |
