I quit my anti-depressant a week ago and now...

...I've lost almost 10lbs and I can't sleep at night (or during the day).

On the bright side, I'm having more "OK" days now and my anxiety/depression isn't that bad without it.

However, I'm starting to get behind on sleep (this has been my sleep aid for 7 months now) and its starting to take its toll on me. I'm also looking like a skeleton now...Which is NOT COOL.

Should I start it back up?

The drug is called Mirtazapine.

I am certainly no doctor but....

I do know that it is not a good idea for me to mess around w my Meds. I don't like being on them. I even got my doctor to get me off of some of them and the result was not good. Sleep is so important for recovery, taking care of your child, etc....and the weight loss may be indicative of anxiety wearing at you. Like I said, I am not a doctor but the dotors are educated, albeit they cam make mistakes but they are better at making decisions about me medically than I am. I would get back on the medicine and definitely talk to the experts about it. Oh, I told my doctor that when I take the medicine I feel dopey, when I don't take the I am moving so fast, unfocused, confused....he said, " would Lou rather feel dopey or anxious, I opted for dopey, for me it is safer. Good luck to you.
