Where's my serotonin?
I have come to the conclusion that I am chronically depressed. I have no motivation or energy. I am on 0.5 azilect and 4xhalf a sinemet a day, plus sleeping pills (zopliclone) and the contraceptive pill (although I am single my menstrual cycle made two weeks per month intolerable). I'm aware that some of these meds can cause depression too. I am wary about adding something else to the cocktail, particularly with the azilect. I have halved my sinemet dosage due to dyskinesia. Also feeling sad as I have met a nice man with pd but he's a sex addict due to agonists. It all feels very bleak. I'm in the UK and its been raining for months. Any suggestions? I'm taking ashwaganda but feel too despondent to take it most of the time. Come back serotonin, I miss you!

Rumor has it that Serotonin takes a hit from PD as well. I am an a low dose SSRI for anxiety. I have read that Serotonin regulates our daily circadian rhythm so this can explain in part the lack of sleep.
I posted on this at length, so I am attaching the link to the thread. I blather on at length as usual so go right past to the good stuff by Mrs. D. There is a more natural treatment than SSRI. I plan to start weaning off the hard stuff next month and trying out her recommendation. http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/sh...ight=serotonin Best, Laura |
