Is this even a possibility???
Hi all.
My cousin just sent me an email containing the following paragraph. Naturally her antennae is up as is mine. Here is what she wrote to me: "I keep getting emails from various sources stating that under Obamacare the current Medicare premium of $96.40 which is deducted from our Social Security checks is going up to $247.50 in 2014! That' a big chunk (approx. $500 per couple) out of household income. When I went to the government website to verify this, it only gives (in pdf form) 974 pages out of the 2,700-page law. It makes me wonder if the government isn't presenting the entire healthcare bill, "just what is it that they don't want us to know?" Anybody know a way to verify this? C" Is this possible. If so, WE ARE ABSOLUTELY DOOMED!! Melody |
Don't worry. Just tell her to delete it.
Was it one of those multiple fwds?? According to snopes.com & other sites - that is a false/fake/spoofed email rumor snopes.com is a great place to check for truth/false of these things. I Googled "2014 medicare premium rate" and got these and more - http://www.snopes.com/politics/medical/medicare.asp http://blogs.wsj.com/totalreturn/201...rumors-return/ |

We must remember...not everything on the internet is true. Heck, this is an election year, half of what we hear on TV is not true! LOL
