Thai massage sound off

There is a place close to where I live that has great reviews on Yelp. Then the question is whether or not this would be good for me. My TOS problems are muscle spasms, circulation (including the infamous edema puffs on the front traps), tight neck and intermittent dizziness. I have some pain too, but it's lower on my complaints list. (Maybe my fish oil supplementation has been benefiting the nerves as someone else mentioned. Hard for me to say as I was already doing so prior to TOS.)

Anyway I've never had a Thai massage before. Have you? How was the experience? Was it pre-TOS or post-TOS? Did it help? How did it affect your neck?

Have you looked at some Thai massage videos on youtube?
It seems pretty rigorous & maybe too extreme for many w/TOS.

Chroma: I've had a few Thai massages years and years before TOS appeared. Then, they were a beating but felt great afterwards. Lots of walking on your back and bending you into various yoga-like positions.

The style is aggressive, but since your pain level is rarely low, it may be fine for you. With nTOS, there is NO WAY I would entertain the idea. I'd call them up and check out their level of English and try to describe your situation. If they can modify it or at least understand when you tell them to stop, you may be OK. In my experience, it's not a relaxing, but a physical exhausting massage.

Maybe it's what we all need to bang everything back where it belongs. Many Thais are in rolls of employment which require intricate, repetitive strain, poor posture positions and I've never read any papers out of the Far East describing rib resection or scalene removals. Report back if you go!

Hmm, I'm feeling chicken right now. :D

There is no way I would try it. Every time I have had any kind of Asian massage since my symptoms started years ago I get dizzy and want to pass out. I gave up on any massage as a result. It's not worth the risk if they make you worse :(
