Bungee jumping

So, we had a family rebellion, er, reunion, in Gatlinburg, and spent one evening at a place that had go-karts and thrill rides. They had the massive swing thingy where you have to lay in the harness, and they had a bungee jump. My DD, age 6, wanted to bungee jump SO BAD, but when I took her to sign up she didn't weigh enough.

So then my son, age 8, decided he wanted to try it. Since he's afraid of heights, I didn't think he would actually do it. It was kinda funny because instead of jumping he just slithered off the edge, but off he went! We had a group discount going on, and I decided I would probably never get another chance like this, so......

I BUNGEE JUMPED!!!

Scariest thing I've ever done on purpose. But now I can check that off my bucket list! DH took DD on the big swing thingy, and she loved that. It looked like a rougher drop than the bungee do I didn't want to try it - more of a jerk instead of a boooiiiiiinnnng.

Next on my list is skydiving. I really wanted to do that on this trip because one of our cousins is an Army Ranger and has done lots of drops. I was hoping he could tandem with me, but isn't certified yet. I found a place about 30 miles from home that is called a skydiving ranch, and I'm plotting to go there soon. DH is not enthused so I may have to be sneaky.

You're braver than me! :o I have enough strange sensations going on in my body every day......don't need the feeling that the bottom's been pulled out from under me! I actually get that one sometimes and it scares me enough to not want to do it on purpose! But I hope you have a good time and I admire your bravery! :)

"Family rebellion", heeheehee. :D

I'm with Kitty, I have scary stuff happen that I don't have to pay for!

I was going to say that there's no amount of money that could make me bungee jump, but if someone offered me, say, half a million dollars? I'd eat a bowl full of tranquilizers and jump.

Good for you!!

Someone asked me once if I'd like to go and do that with them.
When I said "No thanks", they said, "What's the matter? Are you chicken?"
I said, "Yup...care to hear me cackle?"

Great that you had fun, you thrill seeker, you.

With love, Erika

OMG!!!! Definately NOT on my bucket list. I think I cackled at birth...:D

You didn't notice your MS nerves stimulated, did you? I read where one person was cured of MS, after sky diving..B.I.O.N:rolleyes:

Good for you!!! Definitely try skydiving! My friend did and has since gone back to do it again because it was so much fun. Unfortunately since I had the torn arteries in my neck I can never do anything like that. I didn't get a chance to do those things and I so regret it. Don't let the opportunity pass you by!

When people look at me in my chair (and they do you know) DH likes to tell them in hushed tones it's a result of a sky-diving accident (It's not. it's MS). He told a staring lady at Trader Joe's I once went out with John Bon Jovi (not true, though I am from Jersey). Did her eyes bug out and did she stare then!!

Good for you, msarkie!

I would love to skydive but would not bungee jump. Something about trusting my life to something that holds newspaper...

Oh my Gawd!! ROTFLMAO! Yeah, people always either look at you wondering how come you're in the chair, or conspicuously don't look at you trying to be polite. I love the honest reactions of small children when I'm chairbound.

That reminds me: we were in Dallas for vacation and I was having a relapse. I was using a WC for anything more than a few steps due to balance issues. We were shopping in a Children's Place Outlet and kept running across the same families who were also shopping there. When I went to check out, I stood up out of my chair to sign the credit card reader, and one of the little girls who had seen me going around the store in my WC was in line with her mom behind me. You should have seen the look on her face! I gave her my best amazed expression and exclaimed, "It's a miracle! I can walk!" Everyone one within hearing distance just cracked up.

I am so jealous!!!! Even though it has never been on my bucket list it still would be thrilling to do it. I would have to give my husband a huge dose of Ativan before hand though. Or he might just go over to the go karts and not even watch.
