How to find a good neuro
Wow, this is a busy forum.
My feet have been burning on and off for the past few weeks. Tonight, they are pretty bad. I need to find a neuro. Is there any way I can ask questions to find a neuro who understands PN? btw, I am already on B's and gabapentin (900 mgs at night). I've tried to find a post with concise nutritional info but you guys have lots of info spread everywhere. Is there a single post or two with the info I need? My last blood test showed 20 for folic and 980 for B-12 with the vitamin regimen I am still on. |
Hi Mark,
You might have to travel a bit. I started with hospital neurology depts, and found one with a neuropathy clinic, but I still learned more on my own. Other folks may have better advice on finding a good PN-specific Neuro.
I don't think there's a single post with everything; I've had to spend some serious time with the Sticky threads, the Sub-forum, and the search facility. Your B12 sounds pretty good; I don't know about folic. Doc |
there is a peripheral neuropathy support group in Idaho. They might have information on neurologists people have used and who understand PN and the testing and treatments involved

It's great when someone finds something that helps/works, but since everyone is different, not to mention PNs, each case will be different. A better approach might be to talk about (describe) your pain and how it affects your day to day life, and leave medication selection to doctors. Google: talk doctor pain for many articles on how to talk to doctors about pain, dos & don'ts, etc. Doc |
