My name is Sara Boyd, I am an Army veteran and after 10 years of service was Medically Discharged. I was diagnosed with a rare central nervous condition called Central Sensitivity Syndrome around November 2010. Central Sensitivity Syndrome or CSS is a condition where the central nervous system is hyperactive and hyperreactive. CSS causes such conditions as the following: Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue, Endometriosis, Raynaud's Phenomenon, IBS and Cognitive thinking and memory loss issues just to name a few. All the conditions I just listed I have been diagnosed with, and it seems with each new year I am diagnosed with a new condition. I have just been diagnosed with ketosis and am yet to find out what treatment measures I will be enduring for this new diagnosis. I am scheduled to see a neurologist for the first time later this month, since being diagnosed for CSS by my last rheumatologist, I know the VA takes a while. I didn't see a forum link for CSS, but there are some for my other conditions, so I might chat on those forum's. I would love to start a CSS forum, it has been a very difficult challenge to find a support group for CSS specifically. Although CSS shares a lot of simularities to other neuro conditions, it would be helpful to be able to speak with someone who can relate fully to what I am experiencing. I believe this support group will be extremlly helpful and I look forward to speaking with you.

Hi Sara, my name is Melody and I wanted to welcome you to Neurotalk.

First off, I'd like to thank you for your service to our country.

Did you get this CSS because of your service to this country? I had never heard of this condition.

Maybe there is a way for you to start your own forum? I don't know. But others will come along and guide you on your way around Neurotalk.

Again, welcome and I hope you are not in too much pain.

And FYI, recently we had the Wounded Warriors gathering right around the corner from my home here in Brooklyn NY. They do this every year. I always meet and greet the wounded warriors and I thank them for their service.

Also at these gatherings, I meet the 90 year olds who served in World War 2, and the other wars since then.

These men are always so upbeat and eager to share their stories and they get such a kick out of when I tell them that my father caught a Nazi during World War 2.

So thanks for joining us

I most certainly wish you well.

Keep us posted on how your treatment goes, okay?

Take care,

Melody
