Seeming flashes of light- new symptom?
So my head is pounding (pretty typical) and my ears keep ringing (also not unusual) and I keep experiencing what seems to be flashing, I guess. It is as though the ambient light suddenly gets brighter than dims back to normal really quickly. I am a little more unbalanced than usual too.
I don't feel alarmed about it, but am perhaps under-reacting. Is this symptom a bad thing? -Mimi |
It helps to put the flashing lights into context.
If it happens when you get up from sitting, it can be related to a blood pressure/flow changes. There are some dangerous issues to be considered by they are not as common as the benign causes. More information about these flashes would help. If these flashes have been frequent since you recent head injury, you may want to get your eyes check by an ophthalmologist. It can be worthwhile to reduce anxiety loads even if your eyes are fine. |

I did not notice it before the most recent head bonking (almost 3 weeks ago now). I am thinking maybe it is migraine related. -Mimi |
Even if it is migraine related, the online advice suggests getting it checked by a doctor.

I have pcs since Febuary with flashy lights as my most annoying and biggest problem. It happens in my perephial vision and i notice it more when im inside of rooms that have lights coming in from outside. Outside in daylight i dont even notice it just when light gets dim.
Some days its worse than others. Overall if i didnt have this symptom i feel my pcs would be a walk in the park. This flashy light vision is literally 24/7 for me it sucks and i had my eyes checked and they are fine but she said sonething about its in my cerebrul cortex or something. My initial injury happened to the back of my head i wonder if i have permanent damage from it |
Hey Mark, do you have these flashes too? Did they eventually diminish?

That sounds *exactly* like what I am experiencing. Both my initial injury, and the head bonking 3 weeks ago were also on the back of my head. I am feeling a little better today. Thanks everyone! -Mimi |
