Sore mouth from B12
I know I read it somewhere but I have read so much I cant remember where I read someone else said they get a sore mouth from places they hold the B12.
What do you all do about that??? It is not too bad yet but Ive only begun 3 weeks ago and I can tell all the places I move the B12 around on my gums, under tongue, cheeks, all getting sore. |

I use only one of the MethyCobalin B-12, 1 MG , under the tongue once a day. Never had a problem. Maybe your dose is too high??? Been using this for about 8 months or so. Gerry) |
yes i am on a high dose because the B12 shots offered to me are the bad ones..cyno-whatever, with the cianide in it and I wont do them. So I am forced to do high levels sublingually.
Doing 6 of the 1mg pills daily, 3 in am 3 in late afternoon. I rinsed my mouth today with baking soda water, hoping the alkaline will help. |

That is really quite high. Sometimes I do take two 1MG. I had bloodwork done and I am within the normal for B-12. I would assume you had bloodwork done as well to need high dose or shots. The MethylCobalamin requires less than the usual B-12. So far, most pharmacies do not carry the Methyl B-12; but order on line with free shipping with orders of $20 to $40. I also use Source Naturals MethyCobalamin B-12 sublingual cherry flavor. These are best used under the tongue and will absorb better that moving around in the mouth. Gerry) |
its not necessary to take under the tongue to absorb the b12. take on an empty stomach and swallow them.

Mrs. D would agree with the empty stomach or at least 2 hrs before and at least an hour afterwards; but advised me disolving under the tongue was how I should take the MethylCobalamin B12 . If there is difficulty with the sores, etc. from the B12, I would imagine then better to swallow than to have sores. If these are allowed to disolve in mouth; better under the tongue than all around the inside of mouth. Gerry) |

The top 2 tested brands of B12 subling is Enzymatic Therapy and Jarrow according to what I have read, and the longer you keep it under your tongue or lip the better. Yes I had MMA testing done, I wish I could do the active B12 test but they do not offer it. I am above normal but all research shows normal is NOT normal, sorta like thyroid levels. Also, I was on B12 before the test which shows active and inactive B12. Reality is, dose according to symptoms. My dr knows how much I am taking, while he may not agree I need it, he is not worried as there is no toxic level of B12 known since you excrete it. The above forum was amazing place for information on B12 |
