scared and confused
Hello :)
I received a concussion at the beginning of June, I still get persistently bad headaches, get feelings of nausea/dizziness, confusion, feeling 'spaced out' and struggle to find words when forming sentences or even just having a conversation. I went to the doctor yesterday and she is referring me for a scan. Has anyone else been in a similar situation? |
papershoes,
This is classic Post Concussion Syndrome. The scan is very unlikely to show anything. What are you doing to support healing? What is an average day like? |

Welcome, you have joined the club of those on a journey of discovery of how to cope with a brain injury - hopefully it the road to recovery will be short

You are not alone in your symptoms. As my wife of 25 years likes to kid me, it is all in your head. Literally this is true but it is very real. Your brain is injured and needs time to heal. Ask lots of questions and if you need to vent it is OK.

I do feel the same way

I've had psychs and doctors all tell me 'it's all in my head'.
******** If doctors had half a brain they'd be able to recognize people coming into them for help because THEY NEED IT, and not because they want attention by spending money in the doctors' office. I'll never forget when my doctor told me I'm depressed and there's 'nothing I can do about it'. I told him I'm depressed because I'm constantly in a fog and can't think straight, and that he'd be depressed too if he had to deal with this every day of his life for years. Still looking for help and finding none. I won't quit. |
Thankyou :)
I have depression as it is so this is just the icing on the cake for me lol! |

Hello Paper Shoes
Welcome to Neuro Talk. You found the right forum to help you get some help for your TBI. Sorry you have to experience that. Many folks on here have gone through similar things, and come here for dicussion about it. Have hope that you can get better. Most of the cases I hear about take time to heal, but they do get better. I wish you all the best. ginnie
