Tomorrow is the big day

I have my trial tomorrow. If it is successful, I will then see the psychiatrist who wants $80 as he doesn't take Medicaid. It would take forever to go through the red tape to see a psychiatrist at the community health center. If it is successful and I pass the MMPI (joke) I go see the neurosurgeon up in Louisville for a meet and greet. I hope to have the inplantation by the holidays. I hate pre-op foreplay. I have to go by cab tomorrow as the state has cut off my Medicaid transportation (again) because they say I have a car and am driving without a license or ins. Last week, I got a notice from the state that I have one month to provide proof of ins. or else. I called them, told them that I haven't driven in ten years, the car in question was totaled eight years ago and I handled all the paperwork at the county court house......twice. I can't get that darn car cleared out of the data base. I told the gal at the state that I was through crawling through their hoops and to please have me arrested.........but make certain they find a jail for females that has a medical unit. This could be fun. :D

Vaya Con Dios!!

Hey Spine,

I'll be thinking about you today and praying that all goes well, and that the trial is more successful than you ever dreamed it could be! Sorry you have to go through all the crazy "bureaucrap"! I know it's horribly frustrating, but just keep plugging away--maybe you can wear them down by your sheer tenacity! LOL! Let us know how it goes, okay?

Hugs, Prayers, and a dozen pair of red tape scissors....

This is a riot. The last time the state withdrew my medical transport., it took me five years of fighting to get it back. That lasted for six months. Now I am back to paying cab fare. I am not up to that fight again. On the other hand, if I get arrested for not insuring my non existant car, maybe I can get it off of the data base. I WANT to see a judge.

By golly WE can show them where they can stick all that red tape. Get enuf of us Buzzing Buddies P'd off and we become a band of neuro-electro-charged bionic cyborgs with NO limits!! :Demonstration:

I sure hope you don't have to wait till the holidays to get your permanent unit. Be persistent with these people. I know how all this 'paperwork' tends to get lost or misplaced in the shuffle, which can delay the progress. I swear they do this on purpose!

Ok, enuf of the rant :o. Sending you best wishes for your trial procedure. You will do fine. Even tho you'll be put into an anesthesia-induced 'twilight daze', you'll still be able to communicate clearly where you are feeling the stimulation and the rep will help zero in on exactly where you should be feeling it.

Anxiously awaiting an update!

Good luck!!! I'm happily buzzing

I am not anxious about this. Been there and done it before...........15 years ago. Sadly, the trial was done by my former pain doc and one of his associates that he was training to do inplants. My doc took his associate in, said "hook her up" and walked out to see another patient. I wasn't happy with the arrangement but had a snoot full of Versed and let it ride. I was given no post procedure instructions. While I certainly took it easy, I did things that I later found out were big no-nos. Three days later, I was getting shocked, big time, in the genital region. even at the lowest settings. I called the office and was told to turn it off until my scheduled apt. When that day came, there were no doctors in the office and a nurse removed everything.

It has taken me 15 years to reach the point where I was willing to give it another try. I am pretty much at the end of my rope relative to the pain now. I am quite certain that the first attempt failed due to lead migration. I had no idea at the time that I was doing things that were no-nos. I have complete confidense in the people involved this time. What will slow me down is that my pain doc is doing the trial but I have to go out of town for the inplant.
