New Member Hello!
Hi all
I am a new member and really liked this site. Like may of you I had never heard of a colloid tumor before and after suffering "stroke like" symptoms one day at the end of this March '07, I was rushed to the ER and the colloid cyst of the 3rd ventricle is what they found. I had the surgery a few days later and was wondering some things about it from those of you who have been through it. I see there are some of the symptoms listed, post operative ,that I have - still have killer headaches, left leg "disappearing" when you walk, numbness of the scalp. I also have some pretty weird memry problems - unable to find anything if it is not in its right place, forget what I am looking for, what I am doing and my husband says I repeat myself quite often, I forget that I have something on the stove or that I was doing something if I take a break from it. I also have a huge problemn with typing and reading now - my lifes work is all about reading and being on the computer so this really scares me! - words get jumbled and I have to untangle them or use common sense to figure them out and when I type I know what I want to say but it does not come out that way. I also mispell alot of words which I never had problems with before. We all make typo's but I make more of them than I do correct words now and it takes me a very long time to get a text message or anything done on the computer. It also hurts my right eyeball to look at a computer screen and try to read. I had endoscopic surgery on the right on April 2, 07 so that may explain that! When will all of this go away? Will the headaches ever stop? Are there other things that may happen that I should watch for? I am especially interested in the post op problems others have experienced. I appreciate all of the input and especially enjoy this site as all of this is as new to me as it was to you all! Thank you and nice to meet you all!! |
