Burning Question

My Burning Question is does anyone else's burning almost disappear. when thing flair up both hands and forearms (right wrist and hand was where it started) my chin, left eye and both feet and legs from the knee down. I also get the burning in my neck and across my entire lower back but only when thing really flair up. My feet and right wrist never stops, calms down but is always there. but like this morning and most of the day I felt no burning in neck, back, left arm or my face but like every night it all comes back by the time I get off work. Is this considered normal? anyone else's burn almost diappear. This all started after shoulder surgey back in Feb. in May the burning really started to spread.

My burning is intermittent and definitely more prominent when all cylinders are firing. But I have what I think they call “cold RSD”. My feet are like ice. I’m the only person I know wearing socks in the summertime. :( and mine also started the day i woke up from back surgery.

Burning pain constant, decreases in intensity with rest and meds. The worst of my pain is in my wrist and radiates down into the hand and up my arm.

I believe "cold" RSD is in regards to temp regulation dysfunction. I can experience both burning pain while experiencing a freezing cold limb. The cold is more external, while the burning is deep. A reaction to external surface stimuli (wind, material, touch, etc.) can increase the intensity of the internal burning pain.

Not yet Followed up with my Surgeon today He says I am at MMI and documented all my "Issues" with Burning, swelling, Pain Sensitivity. But since they have done an EMG and it was Negative as far as anything they could have done either Surgically or from the the Pre OP Nerve block. ( Major Covering There Butts).

My burning pain follows a pretty consistent pattern.

Best right away in the morning, but progressively worse as the day goes on and I spend more time on my feet.

Worst time for me is late in the day.

Mine is definetly worse at night, during storms or temperature changes of 10 degrees up or down. (I too wear socks occassionally in the summer.)

My hand burns, stings and tingles constantly and I have to keep it warm most of the time. Well, anymore I have to keep my whole body warm. If my hand feels cold I feel cold all over, and sometimes I do not feel warm until I am under a blanket .

Wear Socks In The Summer-Freezing Feet

I think there are a lot of RSD persons who have freezing cold feet and hands, even in the mist of a hot summer day. Hah! I laugh, but not at you, just trying to keep some humor in all of this. The disease (RSD) is like a monster what rises up its ugly head to take you to torturous places at times.

It really does test one's faith; and believe me I have strong faith, of which otherwise, I could not stand this day in and day out.

My elevated blood pressure problems that are secondary to RSD are life-threatening. I am taking the maximum amount of BP meds for it and yet it breaks through. I would be interested to know if you are having any hypertension problems associated with your RSD. I've looked on the internet and don't see too much about the connection, but I didn't have hypertension before I got RSD.

Best regards,

Patience

"In addition, the sympathetic dystrophy can cause the complication of intractable hypertension which responds best to alpha I blockers (Dibenzyline, Hytrin, or Clonodine). The RSD can cause attacks of irregular or fast heart beat, chest pain, coronary artery spasm (angina), as well as disturbance of function of other internal organs. A few examples are frequency and urgency of urination, respiratory disturbance such as dyspnea and apneic attacks, and attacks of severe abdominal pain." by Dr. Hooshmand puzzle no. 34
