Why do I keep getting booted off?

I don't know what is wrong, but every now and then I get booted off of the forum and I cannot sign on. The only way I can get back on is to locate one of my posts and copy my "Yorkiemom" and then paste it into the little sign on box... Does anyone know what is wrong here? Or does anyone know how to fix this?

cathie, it might be your firewall. also make sure you have added neurotalk ( copy the url from your browser) to your browsers list of safe sites. neurotalk does use cookies. that is how it "remembers" you not only when you first log on...but when you from page to page.

be sure when you log in that you check the box to "remember me". clicking the log out button cears the cookies. you have to re-enter your screen name and password.

you have my email addy. email me anytime you need help.

I hate firewalls!!!

I have a friend who constantly emails me. We met on my forum "Parents of Young Adults with Aspergers". We continued to communicate via e-mail but then BOOM. Firewall problems.

Well, every time she writes me and I reply, I get a MAILOR DAMON e-mail letting me know that her CALTRANS FIREWALL SPAM BLOCKER will not let me send her any e-mails.

So how is a person supposed to correspond with a person who can't receive any emails because their email server won't let them get any e-mails?.

I HATE FIREWALLS!!!

hi melody,

can you try a different email account? she might not realize that her firewall or her ISP has your email server blocked.

also...if she has any keywords programed into a spam blocker program...it can zap you and put you on their "banned" list. i had a friend get put on my banned list when she emailed a questions apout a certain RX that we ALL get spam about.

Well, since I can't email her anymore, I sent her a message through my forum "Parents of Young Adults with Asperger" She can't post there for some reason but she can read the postings. She saw my post to her. SHE THEN E-MAILED ME, TELLING ME HER FIREWALL THING WAS ACTING UP!!! She thought it was fixed the next day.

Guess what??? It's not fixed. I absolutely told her to get a hotmail account.
I don't think she knows how to do this.

Please, don't ask!!!! lol

Okey Dokey....

I am using aol, which my husband insists I need to get rid of. It does cause a lot of problems, but I have about 150 Favorite Places saved and I would have to manually transfer them to another account, along with manually transferring my address book.

I don't see any way to put NeuroTalk in my browser's safe sites. There doesn't seem to be a place for that.

???

If I had AOL and I had to get rid of it and let's say I had to change my internet provider, I would copy and paste the URL (up top), (I'd paste it into a microsoft word document, naming it NEUROTALK).

Then, when you change providers and you go on the internet, just go to your NEUROTALK document, copy the URL address (stands for Universal Resource Locater, bet you didn't know that did you????).

Then once you are at your home page of your new internet provider, simply paste the address into the thing on top of your screen, then you'll be taken to NEUROTALK. Then you simply put it in your favorite places.

I have Internet explorer 7.0. So if I am at a website that I want to keep, there are two little stars on the left of my screen. The right star is what I click on, it prompts me to save it to my favorite places, and VOILA , I have FAVORITES.

It's much simpler after you change internet providers.

I used to have AOL. It's so easy, anybody can do it, I know. But once you change and learn a new thing, well, you remember it and it's no big deal.

I have Verizon DSL which uses Internet Explorer as the browser.
But other people use FIREFOX, and others.

I like to keep it simple. Now my son on the other hand (and he's autistic mind you), well, he has browsers that he pays for, he has a special kind of modem thing (that he pays extra for), he has firewalls (that he pays for), I could never have or do the stuff he knows how to do. Boggles the mind.
For example, I once called him on the phone and asked him "how do I do updates on Windows XP?" Now there are easy way to do this, (Windows does it automatically and prompts you), or you can do it manually, which is better for the computer, better for your system, but who on earth can do this?? Not me!!! Well, he wasn't even at the computer, he was laying on his bed and he walks me through about 100 steps, one after the other, and I updated my whole system. Took me a good 30 minutes. My son, never even got off his bed to go to his computer. He saw the whole thing in his mind.
I couldn't do this if you gave me a thousand bucks.

He's got a computer set up like I can't imagine. Just too bad he can't apply himself in the workforce. With his brain, he could have made a lot of money.

Have you been bathing as frequently as you know you should?

The moderators are trained to detect things like that.

hehehe wings...shush! don't you go telling all my secrets. :D
